Catherine Stephens

Catherine Stephens works under the name My Soul Thirsts – a phrase from Psalm 42.

It is from the Bible that Catherine draws a lot of her inspiration. Within it there are so many images of the human story – some uplifting and comforting; others heartfelt or sorrowful.

Catherine’s medium of choice is acrylic paint, working with a variety of stencilling and printing methods as well as using materials, such as textured card, wrap materials, shells, and other natural items.

Catherine also uses monoprints for backgrounds and develops paintings from this. Her studio is a spare bedroom where she can spread materials out and work on several pieces at a time.

She has exhibited at a number of major Christian conferences and retreat centres. Catherine also sells prints through bookshops and via Etsy.
